Coca-Cola Undertakes New Rain Water Harvesting Project In Pune

Having successfully implemented Rain Water Harvesting Project in Pirangut Plant, Coca-Cola, Pune Unit has launched yet another Rain Water Harvesting Project at the Revenue Office in Paud Village near Pune with a potential to harvest around 4 million liters of rain water annually.

The project was inaugurated by Mr.Sharad Dhamale, Member of Legislative Assembly and he expressed his gratitude to the Company for initiating Water Conservation Projects.

The Paud village unit has a recharge trench of about 1.5 – 3.0 meter wide and 2.0 – 3.0 meter deep & will cover a roof top area of nearly 1622 Sq mtrs in the Tehsildars office – the largest built structure in the area

According to Mr Akeel Mohammad, Area Operations Director,Coca-Cola, “The project is in line with Coca-Cola’s philosophy of addressing environment and socially relevant initiatives across the country.. It is only through such a participative approach that we can move ahead and roll out initiatives which will benefit the people at large”.

Mr. Avinash Shinde, Revenue Officer (tehsildar) & Deputy Collector Ms. Poonam Gurav were also present at the function
