It was the moment of great pride and honor when Patna Unit was awarded the Pollution Control Award 2005-2006 by Bihar State Pollution Control Board on the World Environment Day. The Bihar State Pollution Control Board has instituted the award to recognize industries for excellence in the area of environment. The award was presented by Shri Nitish Kumar, Chief Minister of Bihar on the occasion of World Environment Day onJune 5, 2006
At the award function, HCCB- Patna team shared a presentation on PET Recycling. Leaflets containing information on the subject were also distributed to create awareness about PET recycling.
Driven by the principle of HCCB, i.e to provide extensive support for community programs across the country, with a focus on education, health and water conservation, the Unit has taken a number of steps in the direction of pollution control and environment protection.
A few notable examples of the activities done by the unit are PET Recycling and Rain Water Harvesting. 15 tons of PET are being recycled every month. The Unit has started Rain Water Harvesting projects at four locations in which 3328 cubic metre per annum of water is being harvested.
