Making Every Drop Count

Understanding the importance of water to its business & to the communities it serves, Coca-Cola India is partnering with the Central Ground Water Authority ( CGWA), local governments & communities to combat water scarcity. It has embarked on a 4R program to water management- Recycle, Reuse, Reduce & Recharge.

Rain Water Harvesting: In partnership with government officials, NGOs & local communities, Coca-Cola India is supporting several Rain Water Harvesting (RWH) projects in 17 states with over 200 RWH structures.

Revival of old water Bodies: In partnership with the local community & local authorities, Coca-Cola India, has restored the Sarai Bawri, a 400 year old historic water body. Another project is to restore the nearly 400 year old "Kala Hanuman ki Bawri' step well. The Company has also undertaken the restoration of a check-dam at Nandergul village, Saroor Nagar, Ranga Reddy district of Andhr a Pradesh.

Water Sustainability through Recharge Shafts: Historically, societies relied on natural or manmade water bodies as their primary source of freshwater. With the passage of time, most of these water bodies had fallen into despair. Coca-Cola undertook construction of over 100 recharge shafts to enable quickest recharge to ground water. The Company has won several accolades for these path breaking initiatives in Community development, the latest being the "Best Bhagidar" award given by Delhi Government. The others include the Best Organization award by the UP Government, Environment Excellence Award 2005 by the West Bengal Cleaner Products Centre, National Award for Excellence in Water Management by CII & many more.
